Hi,
I've recently started to try and load high volume .fld files (20k plus records) to load gl code combinations. The load process often terminates with an Oracle Server connection lost error or exisitng code combination error even when the source file does not have duplicates. Anyone had something similar? Have been loading 5k to 8k records without issue up till now. Still using the original playback file. Is this a timing, buffer or similar issue?
Any help greatly appreciated |

Simon,
We have seen similar issues to this. Although Forms Playback loads are very fast and reliable, etc, we need to remember that we are still loading the data through Oracle Forms. I doubt Oracle have tested Forms with 20K plus records and although loads of this size often work we should not expect Forms to scale as reliably as, say, the database.
There are things that can be done to debug this issue but if you can successfully load, say, in excess of 10K records we suggest that you just keep your load volumes down to a size that is reliable. With the correct setup you can run multiple loads in parallel so if you need to load, say, hundreds of thousands of records then you could run multiple 10k records loads in parallel or at least start your next load before the preceding load is complete.

Hmm,
Subject line sounds like what we're encountering but much different circumstance. We make limited use of dataload - only one user running batches of about 100 records at a crack. She reported problems problems with Disconnects - sure enough I watched over her shoulder. It took 5 tries to load 100 records. 4 of the 5 were Disconnects and one was a data problem.
This happened a few months ago we modified settings/setup per information on metalink and it seemed fine but its come back. Is anyone else running into this. Any suggestions on troubleshooting these disconnects? |
