I've seen a few other forum posts on this, but none have been answered, so thought I would just log again.
User records a session, downloads the .fld file, edits it, uploads it back to the server, and then logs on as their playback user. 90% of the time it will crash the sessions (the screen all freezes up) almost as soon as the forms session starts, however it looks like the load works in the background. We found if we kill the window then it interups the load, if it's still in progress, but the window doesn't fix once the load has completed. So for a long load we don't know when it's finished, and when it's safe to close the session. We have replicated this on multiple machines.
I found these questions in a previous post:
What is the DataLoad version? V5.4.1.0
What is the Oracle version? 12.1.3
Are you using JInitiator or JRE for the Java client deployment? JRE
Does this happen with all playbacks or just this particular load? 90% of all playbacks crash
Does Oracle crash/error if the data is entered manually? No
If the ICX: Forms Launcher profile option value at user level for your playback user contains the text "&config=playback" or "&code=oracle.forms.engine.MainRT" then please remove this text, save the change, logout and try another playback. What happens? This is not set
Additionally, our machines are running 32-bit Windows 7.
