With the release of version 12, Oracle appear to be moving more and more towards using the OA Framework (HTML and Javascript) based screens as opposed to the traditional Forms based screens.

DataLoad is much more tailored towards the Forms-style screens, and is difficult to use the classic (Copy Paste) with the OA-style screens without using alot of complex *ML commands to position the mouse cursor in the specific fields, open LOVs, select values etc.

Are there any plans to enhance the Classic Dataload to provide an easier solution for populating these OA style screens?

Thanks

C

The current Macro loads do support the OA Framework HTML forms although depending on the form some mouse navigation will be required.

The next version of DataLoad - V5 - contains significant enhancements to better support the HTML forms. Most importantly, DataLoad will integrate with the browser and insert the data directly in form fields and most navigation commands can be left out. This integration will also mean delays are not required and the load will not proceed faster than the browser is working.

Thanks,

Jonathan Stuart

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the speedy reply. The improved Web Browser integration sounds very promising. Can you tell me when v5 is expected to become available? Also, are there compatibility restrictions in the brand and/or version of the Web Browser?

Thanks again,

Chris

Hi Jonathan,

v5 sounds very promising. Even for Oracle 11.5.10 it could be interesting because there are a few OA Framework HTML forms that we have difficulties to use with DataLoad Classic (v4.3.9.0).

I don't want to insist too much, but could you tell us (even if it's an approximative date) when v5 is expected to become available, please?

Thank you,
Nicolas.
