|
|
I'm trying to load Chinese data into Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 using the free version of DataLoad. I'm not having much luck.
Here's what I'm doing:
-- I'm using the Chinese (PRC) language
-- I'm using the Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0 editor
-- I'm using the font SimSun (although I've also tried others)
-- In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box (in Windows XP) I've checked the "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs" checkbox.
-- Editing simplified Chinese in Word, Excel, Notepad all works perfectly.
-- I still get the '???" characters in DataLoad.
Can someone steer me in the right direction? I really need to load Chinese data into Oracle EBS.
Thanks. |

Click the "Search" icon at the top of the DataLoad Forum screen, then supply the Keyword "Chinese".
You will find your own question plus this one:- http://www.dataload.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42 which also refers to this one:- http://www.dataload.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11.

I'm doing everything that these posts suggest as far as I can tell and am still having the same problem.
Any ideas? |

Thank you.
Now in the DataLoad Options form (DataLoad, Tools, Options), what does it show for Font, and is the "Unicode (UTF8) File Format for FLD Files" checked?
Thanks. _________________ When my time comes,

I can use the fonts Default, Pinyin Okay, Courier, anything and it always displays the "?" instead of the Chinese character.
I have the "Unicode (UTF8) File Format for FLD Files" checked. |

Thank you. I think that that is all of the information required. I regret that your problem is beyond my own knowledge and skills to resolve, but I have asked DataLoad Support to help.

No. I do not use either Japanese or Chinese (nor do I have access to a user who does). My current project does not use DataLoad Professional and I don't have access to a server which is set up for its use. I just happen to have been involved with DataLoad since just after it was launched, and enjoy helping people to get up and running with it, and volunteered to be a moderator on this forum. I am not employed by DataLoad and I do not have any commercial connection with DataLoad; I simply enjoy using it and enjoy helping others to get started (or helping them help themselves to get started).
While I was browsing the forum, I noticed your post and remembered the two previous posts, so I pointed you towards them. As far as I know, these issues have been resolved and the users are using DataLoad to load Japanese and Chinese characters. Therefore I anticipate that it should be possible to solve your problem. I don't know what the answer will be, but I think that I have asked you for the information that DataLoad Support will need to help you.

That worked! This is what I did:
Navigation: Microsoft Windows > Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options
On the last tab (Advanced) I selected Chinese (PRC).
Worked great! Thanks. |
